This Privacy Policy explains how Mic Test ("we," "this site," "the tool") handles information when you use realmictest.com. The short version: your microphone audio never leaves your browser, and we don't ask for or collect any personal information to use the tool.

Microphone Audio

Mic Test uses your browser's built-in Web Audio API and MediaRecorder API to read microphone input, display live level meters and waveforms, and let you record and play back short audio clips. All of this processing happens entirely on your device, in memory. Audio from your microphone is never transmitted to, or stored on, any server we operate. Anything you record is discarded the moment you refresh or leave the page.

No Accounts, No Forms

There is no sign-up, login, or account system on this site, and no form on this page asks for your name, email address, or any other personal information. There is nothing to create and nothing stored against your identity.

Cookies and Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (such as how many people visit and which pages are used), which sets cookies and processes standard technical data like your IP address and browser information on Google's servers. This is completely separate from your microphone: Google Analytics only ever sees that a page was visited — it has no access to your microphone, your audio, or anything you record on this page. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking site-wide using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by using your browser's tracking-protection or ad-blocking settings.

Hosting and Standard Server Logs

This site is hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Like virtually any website, routine, aggregate technical data (such as IP address and request metadata) may be processed by our hosting provider as part of normal web delivery and security operations (for example, to prevent abuse). This is standard infrastructure-level logging, separate from — and unrelated to — the microphone audio you test on this page, which is never sent to our servers or our host.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, since no personal information is collected from any user in the first place.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the tool evolves. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date above. We encourage checking back periodically if you have concerns.
